Ballantyne Launch weekend

Today was the launch of the first campus of Next Level Church. We also went to three services at the Matthews campus: 9, 10:15, & 11:3o. Middle school got moved back to 9:00 in order to allow more adults on campus. We had a total of 35 in Middle School which is not bad, but could be seen as a step back. It would be tempting except that I know that it played a big role in the largest Matthews sunday attendance ever. I think there were about 935 people that were impacted through the ministry of Next Level this Sunday and that is pretty cool. And maybe even cooler is that we have like 20 life groups that are bursting at the seams with people.

Mark asked this week about where I saw myself in 5 or 10 years... "beats me." Maybe right here. Maybe not.

I was really proud of Steve Janssen today (in a non-condescending sort of way). He had a handful of students in there and he was casting vision and I think they are starting to understand his humor a little more. And perhaps a bit selfishly I felt a huge sense of relief that he was doing a great job and I could rely on him to make Ballanyne go so that it wouldn't be my beast to care for. In the future I know those guys won't all come from me, but for my sake I think it would be much better if many of them came through an intern program that Ron and I are working on putting together.
