D.I.S.C. and a hypnotic teaching

Went to the staff retreat at Michelle and Jay's home yesterday. It was March 17th and colder than I expected so I spent half the day shivering despite the roaring fake fire in the fireplace of the Great Room. Even fake fire, which is still "fire" isn't as good at the original. I guess that's just how the universe is... Everyone on the staff was there: Todd, Mark, Dan, Rob K., Rene', H, Doug, Kathy, Cathy, Susan Socha, Steve J., Michelle J., Mike Grubbs, and I. We went through our DISC assessments and by the time we got to mine (I was last) I was so tired I was angry that I had to do it. Sitting around listening to people talk about themselves for 8 hours is just about the worst torture I can think of. I suppose it was good team building, but it was a price I would rather not pay.

I also taught this weekend. It went pretty well. Far and away the worst parts were an attempt at using the CMS code of conduct for humor and Mark's suggestion that I act like a hypnotist during the last segment. The latter is definitely one of those things where you say, "I can't believe that sounded like a good idea at the time!!!"

Ballantyne's attendance was 235 the week before Easter.

Thanks for the encouraging comment on my blog! Brave doesn't seem to be the word I would use to describe my writing, but I'll take it. :)
