I voted today

So I went to the polls this morning.  I voted.  For Jesus.

I had been thinking about doing it for a while now, and naturally it felt a bit silly when it came right down to it.  But in the end it was more about me than America or Jesus.  If casting a ballot is your little way of participating in the system and thinking that you have some sort of control in this life then think of this as my little way of sticking it to the man and proclaiming that I don't buy into the illusion of control.

Wow, I'm really starting to sound like a crazy person. lol.  If you can't laugh at the last sentence of that last paragraph then maybe you just care to much.

So back to it.  I think if we've learned anything over the last 30 years of evangelical christianity it's that the power of the empire does not mix well with the downward path of the cross.
"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability,"
Good line for a president.  Bad line for a christian.  Any president would have to make these types of decisions, but how could you make them as a christian!?!?  "Dear Jesus,  I know you said to love your enemies, but I'm president so there's a lot of people I'm going to have to kill.  Please forgive me, The President of the United States of America."
