I enjoy fundraising.
And I keep it a secret because, well, no one should like doing that. Right?
I will admit that early on, there were some very uncomfortable moments as I learned what I was doing, who I was, and how to honor others in the process. And there are still some gut-check moments when I just don't want to pick up the phone and make the call. But I decided early on that I was going to dig down deep and find the joy in this God-ordained task. What we are doing is important and so I will find joy in it. I forced it at first and now it flows freely.
So here is my question for you. Where do you need to dig down deep and discover the joy that comes from fulfilling God's purposes in your life?
Changing diapers? Plugging away at the spreadsheet? Confronting destructive behavior? Expecting excellence?
Where do you need to dig for joy?
