Where Scars are our Greatest Glory

God has greatly been stretching my understanding of what he can redeem.

By stretching my understanding of what he will allow.

By enlarging my knowledge of how the innocent suffer.

By bringing me people whose tragic stories are a gift.

Because they reflect the fullness of our broken world.

And the fullness of the scope of the Resurrection

and point to a God for whom the cross was not just painful but

humiliating, degrading, disgraceful, demeaning.

A God who conquered it all through resurrection and who announces

that the New Creation is the one place where scars are our greatest glory.
